Mr. Om Prakash Thakur Lohar
Mr. Om Prakash Thakur Lohar is a Mechanical Engineer with hands-on experience in hydropower project construction, fabrication, and site execution. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and has worked on multiple hydropower projects of varying capacities, gaining practical exposure to powerhouse components and site operations.
His professional experience includes involvement in fabrication and erection of hydropower structures such as gates, penstock pipes, bends, bifurcations, reducers, and expansion joints. He has also been responsible for supervising sand blasting and painting works, conducting visual inspections of welding, and assisting in operation and maintenance activities at hydropower sites.
Mr. Lohar possesses working knowledge of mechanical tools, non-destructive testing methods such as UT testing, magnetic particle testing, dye penetration testing, and paint thickness measurement. He is familiar with crane installation processes, Pelton turbine components, and general powerhouse equipment. His skill set is supported by proficiency in AutoCAD, basic SolidWorks, and common engineering documentation tools.
At the Hidi Khola Hydropower Project, Mr. Lohar contributes to site-level execution by coordinating fabrication and erection activities, supervising labor, preparing daily and weekly progress reports, and assisting in measurement and billing works. Known for his practical approach, teamwork, and strong work discipline, he plays an important role in supporting smooth mechanical execution at the project site.
